At The Meadows at Firefly Farm Preserve, we love seeing couples make their wedding day feel completely their own—from the ceremony setting and signature cocktails to the sweet treat waiting for guests at the end of the night. Whether you simply aren’t a “cake person,” want to surprise your guests, or are looking for another way to bring personality into your reception, there are so many delicious alternatives to the traditional wedding cake.
Here are some of our favorite alternative wedding dessert ideas for your celebration at The Meadows.
1. A Small Cutting Cake + Dessert Bar
Can’t imagine your wedding without the classic cake-cutting photo, but don’t necessarily want to serve cake to 150+ guests?
Have the best of both worlds!
Choose a small, beautifully decorated cake for the two of you to cut together, then create a dessert bar filled with your favorite treats for guests. Think brownies, cookies, mini cheesecakes, lemon bars, macarons, cake pops and bite-sized pastries.
It gives you the traditional wedding moment while offering guests plenty of choices—and your dessert display can become part of your reception décor, too.
2. An Ice Cream Cart

Pair espresso drinks with tiramisu, biscotti, chocolate-covered espresso beans, mini cannoli or pastries.
