There is something especially beautiful about an August wedding at The Meadows—lush greenery, sweeping fields, and the warm glow of late-summer evenings. Charla and Isaiah’s August 22 wedding brought all of those elements together with a romantic palette of soft purples, fresh greens, and ivory, a large wedding party, and plenty of personality.
From the smallest details to their golden-hour portraits in the meadow, their celebration felt joyful, elegant, and perfectly at home at The Meadows at Firefly Farm Preserve.
A Summer Wedding
Charla and Isaiah chose shades of lavender, purple, sage, and natural greenery for their summer color palette. Against the landscape of the preserve, the colors felt fresh and romantic without competing with the natural surroundings.
The details set the tone from the beginning. Lavender accents appeared throughout the day, including a beautiful personalized hand fan photographed alongside the bride's lace, shoes, rings, and jewelry. The bridal party continued the palette in soft lavender, while the groomsmen wore sage green suits. Isaiah stood out in a lighter neutral suit with a coordinating green tie and purple boutonnière.
With a wedding party this large, the combination created an incredible visual effect—the soft purple and green tones tying everyone together while still allowing the couple to take center stage.
An Outdoor Ceremony Surrounded by Nature
Charla and Isaiah exchanged vows outdoors with the preserve's greenery creating the backdrop.

Their ceremony design incorporated purple, lavender, white, and green florals around the vintage white iron structure, complementing the landscape rather than covering it. Rows of white chairs and floral arrangements along the aisle kept the overall look romantic and timeless.
One of our favorite things about outdoor weddings at The Meadows is how completely different the property can feel from one celebration to another. Charla and Isaiah embraced the natural surroundings while adding just enough color and floral detail to make the space distinctly theirs.
And with their friends and family gathered around them—and that impressive wedding party standing beside them—the ceremony felt both intimate and wonderfully celebratory.
Just Married!
Some of the best photographs from a wedding day aren't necessarily the most posed ones.
After the ceremony, Charla and Isaiah walked through their cheering wedding party, hand in hand and absolutely beaming. Those photographs capture exactly what a wedding day should feel like: excitement, laughter, movement, and the people you love celebrating right alongside you.

Their purple bouquets and sage suits looked especially beautiful against the late-summer landscape, but it's their expressions that make these photographs unforgettable.
A Sweet Summer Surprise: Mama Bird’s Ice Cream
What could be better at an August wedding than ice cream?
Charla and Isaiah treated their guests to Mama Bird's ice cream cart, bringing a playful—and very welcome—summer element to the celebration.
The couple even took a moment to enjoy it themselves, creating one of the sweetest photo opportunities of the evening. We love when couples incorporate something unexpected into their reception experience. Food trucks, carts, late-night snacks, and interactive treats give guests something to discover while also making the wedding feel much more personal.
For a warm North Carolina summer wedding, an ice cream cart was a particularly perfect choice.

Golden Hour in The Meadows
As evening arrived, Charla and Isaiah stepped away from the celebration for portraits in the open meadow.
This is one of our favorite times of every wedding day at Firefly Farm Preserve.
The late-summer sun settled behind the tree line while the meadow turned warm and golden around them. Charla's long lace-edged train spread beautifully across the grass, and the soft sunlight filtering through her veil created a completely different feeling from their earlier portraits beneath the property's mature trees.
It was quiet, romantic, and an incredible way for the newlyweds to have a few moments together before returning to their celebration.

A Wedding That Felt Like Them
Charla and Isaiah's wedding is a beautiful example of how color, nature, and personal details can come together without making a wedding feel overly styled.

The lavender and sage palette felt romantic and seasonal. Their large wedding party brought energy and personality to the day. The outdoor ceremony celebrated the natural beauty of the preserve. Mama Bird's ice cream cart gave guests a fun summer treat. And their sunset portraits brought everything full circle with one last quiet moment in the meadow.
Most importantly, the photographs are filled with laughter.
And that may be our favorite detail of all.
Congratulations, Charla + Isaiah! We loved seeing The Meadows become the backdrop for this chapter of your story.
