A RALEIGH ALOHA

What better than World Rum Day to finally write about this heat wave of a wedding? I’m talking hot in the figurative.

Maggie + Casey’s actual wedding day dawned balmy and breezy, just like the tropics they were so inspired by. And while I’m not positive it’s actually “World Rum Day”, we will raise our Cuba Libre regardless and finally share this super vacation x destination feeling wedding day with y’all. If your own island wedding day was shut down due to COVID, this one’s for you (we’ll include an extra shot of rum).

Sip, scroll, and be inspired by how effortlessly The Meadows transforms itself into an oasis of celebration!

Side note: Since we can’t all be on vacation right now, we get to live vicariously through the lens of Jordan Maunder Photography.  An artist with a healthy dose of BFF vibes, her easy personality almost makes you forget she’s simultaneously capturing your wedding day with gallery-worthy images.

Our favorite Leo + Lead Designer of Lion House was the brain behind the venue transformation. Breathing her clients tropical inspired vision to life was a treat to us all. Part creative visionary and part logistical mastermind, Lauren’s design remains one of our top aesthetic + seating layouts to date. Mixed botanicals made their way throughout the venue, mirroring the diverse foliage you might find while trekking between sea-level and sky-high views of Hawaii. Wylde Flowers was certainly suited for the task, with their organic, edgy, and lush design portfolio.

HL Catering didn’t skip a beat, dishing up the kind of easy, refreshing plates one might have the appetite for in humidity.

Their secret ingredient? Spiced rum, of course.

AND NO, IT’S NOT THE STRONG DRINK - THOSE ARE MINIATURE DINO SEATING CARDS YOU SEE.

While “tropical” is an aesthetic enough solo, Maggie + Casey made a special request that the day include a touch of Jurassic Park, too.

MAGGIE AND CASEY FLOATED THROUGH THE DAY LIKE THEY WERE ACTUALLY ON THE TAIL END OF A WEEK LONG BEACH STAY; DESPITE THE STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL DESIGN, THEIR FACES AND JOY ARE WHAT WE APPRECIATE MOST AT THE MEADOWS.

Time for a refill, Aloha!
