Kate & Jared didn’t shy away from the unconventional or a little flair for their September nuptials; the general mood remained classic and elegant but incorporated everything from bridal capes (who needs a veil?!) to an altar table for their ceremony backdrop. Even the sky chose to mix it up with a clear blue afternoon and steamy, fog filled sunset.
Luckily, Lindsey Cash Photography was there to capture the magic. Her work is clean, captivating, and always comes with a dose of smiles. We love having her on-site.
We were wowed by bouquets of a smaller, more traditional shape that still included endless texture and bold foliage. Colors were neutral, but not in the bright “white and green” sort of way. Earth tones took over with blush to burgundy, beige to gold, and a menagerie of fillers throughout the arrangements.
Even the bridesmaid’s dresses were the perfect combo of classic and edgy; clean cuts and high necklines coupled with the on-trend midi length and a gorgeous olive green color popped against our rolling green meadows. Or should we say the bright meadows popped against their dresses?
Perhaps my favorite part of the general aesthetic was how seamlessly they blended our indoor outdoor venue options. Late Summer heat didn’t deter a shaded, valley ceremony or the use of stunning furniture choices outside. And, an outdoor wedding didn’t deter elegant choices in florals, dress, hair, etc. Speaking of elegant choices, Nina + team at Wedded Kiss Beauty did a stunning job with hair and makeup. Scoot over beach strands, sleek retro waves are back.
Funky Fresh served up a gorgeous feast with a side of style; while they’re well known as a catering company in the Triangle, they also offer design + planning! They did an incredible job with Kate + Jared’s vision, and their service doesn’t waiver even when they combine their planning + catering services. While we’re talking food, we’ll mention again how much we loved the indoor outdoor reception setup; despite being in two “separate” spaces, our expansive and custom roll-up garage doors allow for an open-air dining experience that unites two of Heron Hall’s most loved elements: the covered patio + the main hall.
PS: if you’ve ever asked why bridal portraits are such a steadfast tradition in the south, look no further than these B&W shots of Kate. Yes they serve as a helpful trial for hair, makeup, and wardrobe malfunctions, but more importantly they give you time and space to spread your bridal wings and enjoy a glammed up, empowering afternoon.
We’re so grateful for the repeat vendors that continue building beautiful, custom events for our clients. And, we’re continually humbled by all of the brides + grooms from the triangle & around the country who continue choosing The Meadows as the start of their married journey. Thank you to Kate + Jared for knowing that The Meadows and all of it’s 115 acres was the best space for you to say I Do!
